2002 Gujarat riots: Judgment in Naroda Patiya situation likely today



INDIA, AHEMADABAD: Almost a several decades after 95 individuals were killed in one of the toughest 2002 Gujarat riots situations, a unique judge in Ahmedabad is predicted to provide its verdict these days in the Naroda Patiya situation against the 61 charged, such as former BJP reverend She Kodnani and former Bajrang Dal head Babu Bajrangi.

On Feb 28, 2002 during the bandh contact given by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a rioting mob had assaulted Naroda Patiya, eliminating 95 Muslims.

Shopkeeper Nazeer Mohammad was fortunate, but he is still trying to item his lifestyle together. His family associates handled to evade the rioters, but their home, company and all their benefits were gone in the anarchy that followed.

"They first took away whatever they could lay their arms on. My spouse used to offer bracelets from home... that was also looted... all valuable items were taken away before they set the home afire," remembers Nazeer.

The situation was first examined by the Gujarat Cops, but last year, the Superior Court hired a Special Research Group (SIT) to sensor / probe ten situations such as this occurrence.

The SIT authorized situations against many charged such as the then reverend Mayaben Kodnani and caught her. This was once a reverend was caught in a huge range situation. The Naroda Patiya affected individuals had given claims revealing that Ms Kodnani had incited enemies.

Of the 64 individuals charged, three passed away during test. The staying 61 charged were tried for eliminating, arson and rioting - most of them are out on help.

Now, 10 decades on, it's reasoning day. And the affected individuals of Naroda Patiya are expecting, rights will carry some closing.
