Federer reach record 32nd Slam semis

LONDON: Roger Federer reach record 32nd Slam semis 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 quarterfinal win over Russian Mikhail Youzhny, punctuated with an angled backhand volley, was a oneway train, a match sans conflict or contest. The 30-year-old former World No. 1 swept everything before him wrapping up his 64th win on Church Road in a mere 92-minutes.

The six-time title holder at the All England Club will take on World No. 1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic in a dream semifinal on Friday. On the adjacent Court No. 1 on Wednesday, the Serb stopped 28-yearold German Florian Mayer 6-4, 6-1, 6-4 in a last eight clash in which he was barely tested, coming through in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

After his win, Djokovic said, "I am not trying to defend my title here. I am trying to fight for it as every other player left in the tournament. My mindset is very positive. Last year, when I won here, it was a huge relief as it was my first win on this surface. I hadn't won before on grass. Now I feel great on this surface. This year, I've played consistently right through the tournament, I hope to continue that way."

Federer, who has always enjoyed a hearty welcome unto Centre Court, had a couple of new fans in the stands on Wednesday, his three-year-old twin daughters - Myla Rose and Charlene Riva - who sported stripped tees and bright smiles as they peeped down at their daddy's office. They were then duly escorted off the grand arena by their nannies.

But Randeep is nonchalant about all the talk surrounding her. “Before signing the film, I hadn’t heard or known much about her, other than that she had appeared in Bigg Boss 5.

I don’t watch TV, so I hadn’t even seen her on the show,” he says. He adds, “I didn’t sign the film because of her (Sunny). I would have signed it anyway, as the role offered to me is brilliant.” Randeep plays a musically inclined assassin in the film. And what is his perception of Sunny?

“There were many expectations initially from her (as an actor), so I didn’t know what to expect. She is still finding herself as an actor and learning the ropes,” Randeep says.
The racy promos make it seem that Jism 2 will have a fair share of sex scenes. Ask Randeep how he prepared for them, and he says, “How does one prepare?

You don’t need to prepare yourself. I think one has been preparing oneself for a long time. We have all had physical encounters in our lives. But more than the scenes or the erotica factor, I concentrate on the emotions, because it’s not an act in isolation.

It isn’t just about having sex but about an emotional relationship. I treat them like any other scene. We follow the director’s instructions, making them seem as real as possible, while keeping the boundaries of cinema in mind.”
