Samsung has extended its lead over Apple company in mobile mobile phones, in part because its new Universe mobile phones came out before Apple company updated its iPhone, research group IDC said Friday.

INDIA: Samsung's Universe S3 mobile phones got good reviews when it was released late in the second 1 / 4. In the U.S., the mobile phones work with the faster fourth-generation, or 4G, cellular networks that major wireless companies have been building. The Galaxy's screen is larger than the iPhone's while the New samsung mobile cellphone is lighter and thinner.

An iPhone with 4G capabilities isn't expected until this fall. The current model, the iPhone 4S, came out in Oct, and revenue typically drop several months after each release.
Market discuss jumped from 17% to 33%
According to IDC, New samsung Gadgets Co. delivered 50.2 thousand mobile mobile phones globally in the second 1 / 4 and had a business of 33 %, up from 17 % a season ago. Apple company Inc.'s fell a little bit to 17 %, from 19 % a season ago. It sold 26 thousand iPhones in the April-June 1 / 4.

IDC's report came out the same day New samsung reported another record-high quarterly profit, thanks to Universe revenue. Robust revenue of mobile mobile phones helped offset a slowdown in other technology businesses, such as televisions and personal computers.

IDC said the big question is how well Samsung's mobile phones will sell once the new iPhone comes out.

Analysts believe New samsung will achieve a record-high profit again in the third 1 / 4 when Universe S3 revenue are required to reach a peak, but revenue are likely to drop or slow in the holiday 1 / 4 once Apple's new iPhone comes out.

154 thousand mobile mobile phones sold in 2nd quarter
Overall, mobile cellphone manufacturers delivered 154 thousand mobile mobile phones in the second 1 / 4, a 42 % increase from 108 thousand last season. That was a little bit below IDC's forecast of 43 % and was the slowest growth since it all 1 / 4 of 2009. At that rate, IDC said it would be tougher for New samsung and Apple company to expand their industry shares further.

IDC said economic turmoil in Europe could put growth prospects at risk.

Including basic cellphones, vendors delivered 406 thousand units, up from 402 thousand last season.

Samsung and Apple company combined stated nearly half of the mobile mobile cellphone industry.

Nokia Corp. was No. 3 with a 6.6 % business, down from more than 15 % a season ago. Htc has had some success with its Lumia line, based on Microsoft's Windows system. The company is hoping for a boost once Microsoft releases a major upgrade to Windows in Oct, one designed with touch screens in mind.

HTC Corp. was 4th with 5.7 % of the industry, down from nearly 11 %.

Chinese mobile cellphone maker ZTE Corp. stated the No. 5 spot for the first time, with a 5.2 % business, up from 1.8 % last season. Its lower-cost, entry-level mobile mobile phones have been popular in China and Latin America.
