MUKTSAR: Postmortems done on some of hundreds of cranes found dead in Pakki Tibbi town in Muktsar has exposed that it was overcrowding, deficiency of meals and earthworms attack that murdered the creatures.
A individual questions by the creatures department verified that the cranes had not much to supply on. The creatures department review says that the creatures arranged in four plants and often conducted for meals. Earthworms were retrieved from bellies of many of them.
A team of vet doctors did postmortems on Weekend evening and tissue examples have been sent for research. Assessments would also be done at High Security Animal Disease Identify Clinical (HSADL) in Bhopal.
District woodlands officer, Ferozepur department, M Sudhakar, explained: "Worm bacterial infections had led to reduced resistance. The creatures became weak, especially the young ones. These aren't migratory creatures but flourish in groups on the areas of Punjab. The cranes had came in a natural environment for the reproduction season."
