E-cigarettes can damage voice and lungs too

USA, WASHINGTON:  E smoking cigarettes, cigarettes are being promoted as a possibly more secure substitute to regular smoking cigarettes cigarettes, but new analysis has revealed that they are still causing damage to the voice.

The analysis has also included new proof to the controversy over the protection of substitute nicotine-delivery items.

Electronic smoking cigarettes cigarettes are devices that deliver smoking cigarettes through a fumes, rather than smoke. There is no burning involved but the smoking cigarettes in it is still resulting from smoking cigarettes cigarettes. There has been much controversy over the protection and performance of the items, but little scientific proof to support either claim.

Researchers from the University of Athens in Portugal aimed to examine the short-term results of using e-cigarettes on different individuals, such as individuals without any known illnesses and smoke smokers with and without current bronchi conditions.

The analysis involved 8 individuals who had never used and 24 smoke smokers, 11 with regular breathing and 13 individuals with either serious obstructive lung disease (COPD) or bronchial asthma.

Each person used an e-cigarette for 10 moments. The scientists then calculated their throat level of resistance using a number of assessments, along with a spirometry test.

The results revealed that for all individuals involved in the analysis, the e-cigarette caused an immediate improve in throat level of resistance, long lasting for 10 moments. In healthy topics (never smokers) there was a mathematically considerable improve in throat level of resistance from a mean regular of 182 % to 206 %.

In smoke smokers with regular spirometry there was a mathematically considerable improve from a mean regular of 176 % to 220 %. In COPD and bronchial asthma patients the use of one e-cigarette seemed to have no immediate effect to throat level of resistance.

Professor Christina Gratziou, one of the writers and Chair of the ERS Cigarettes Control Panel, said: “We do not yet know whether unapproved smoking cigarettes distribution items, such as e-cigarettes, are more secure than regular smoking cigarettes cigarettes, despite marketing statements that they are less dangerous. This analysis helps us to comprehend how these items could be possibly damaging.

“We found an immediate rise in throat level of resistance in our group of members, which indicates e-cigarettes can cause immediate damage after smoking cigarettes it. More analysis is needed to comprehend whether this damage also has long lasting results in the long-term.

“The ERS indicates following effective cigarettes treatment guidelines based on scientific proof which do not recommend the use of such items,” Teacher Gratziou included.

The result was presented at the Western Breathing Society’s Yearly The legislature in Vienna.
