Attack on "Likes" fraud



USA: FACEBOOK has ramped up initiatives to get rid of "Likes" that aren't from people truly enthusiastic about providing a exclusive thumbs-up.
"We have lately improved our computerized initiatives to eliminate Prefers on webpages that may have been obtained by means that breach our Facebook or myspace terms" of service," the Facebook or myspace protection group said in a writing.
"These lately enhanced computerized initiatives will eliminate those Prefers obtained by viruses, affected records, fooled customers or bought large Prefers."
Facebook has long given associates the capability to promote webpages at the online community by hitting "Like" symbols.
High amounts of Prefers can give "fan count" position to webpages, particularly those devoted to manufacturers.
"A 'Like' that doesn't come from someone truly enthusiastic about linking with a web page benefits no one," Facebook or myspace said.
"This enhancement will allow webpages to generate ever more appropriate and exciting material, and manufacturers will see a rise in the true involvement around their material."
Facebook predicted that less than one % of the fan depend on any given web page would be reduce as a result of the crackdown on "suspicious Likes".
