64 murdered, 715 harmed in Chinese suppliers quake



CHINA, BEIJING: At least 64 individuals were murdered and 715 others harmed on Saturday when a superficial earth quake followed by a sequence of aftershocks shaken the hilly south west Chinese suppliers, leading to landslides and dropping over 20,000 houses.
The 5.7 range earth quake hit the boundary place of Yiliang nation in Yunnan region and Weining nation in the nearby Guizhou region at 11:19 am regional time, according to Chinese suppliers Earthquake Systems Center (CENC).

The epicentre of the tremble was tracked at Luozehe town, about 33 km away from the town centre of Zhaotong. Its level was about 14 km.

Sixty-four individuals have been verified deceased and 715 others were harmed in the quakes, the formal Xinhua information organization estimated authorities from the Yunnan Province's municipal matters division as saying.
Forty nine individuals were murdered in Yiliang while one loss of life was revealed from town Zhaotong place, an provincial municipal matters division formal said. Over 150 others were harmed.
The loss of life cost may increase further as rescuers are yet to arrive at some of the quake-hit towns clogged off by landslides and dropping stones, regional authorities said. Energy and marketing and sales communications also showed up to be cut off in the worst-hit places.
As of 1 pm regional time, the tremble was followed by 16 aftershocks, with the most powerful calculating 5.6 on the Richter Scale, Yunnan's provincial seismological institution said.
The tremble impacted over seven lakh individuals in Yiliang and Daguan places as well as Zhaoyang region, which are all under the management of Zhaotong. So far, more than one lakh individuals have been cleared.
More than 20,000 houses were either broken or had flattened in the tremble, according to the Yunnan provincial municipal matters division.
Southwest Chinese suppliers is vulnerable to quakes. In May 2008, an 8.0-magnitude tremble rocked Sichuan and places of nearby Shaanxi and Gansu regions, eliminating hundreds of many individuals.
