Santiniketan hostel warden caught, launched on bail


INDIA: A trial in Western Bengal’s Birbhum region on Thursday provided help to the warden of a hostel of Visva Bharati School in Santiniketan after she was caught for purportedly pushing a category V college pupil of Patha Bhavan to consume her own pee as penalties for wetting her bed.

The trial reprehended the occurrence and criticised the cops for arranging the charged under bailable costs. It also requested why the charged was not reserved under the Teenager Rights Act. It instructed that the warden keep the healthcare costs of the lady college pupil who dropped ill after the occurrence on Sunday.

The mother and father had registered a issue against Uma Poddar, the warden of Karabi Hostel of Patha Bhavan, claiming that she had cruelly penalized their lady after she wet her bed on Sunday.

“The warden was caught on Thursday day following a issue by the mother and father of the college pupil. She was created before a trial and was later provided help,” Rishikesh Meena, Superintendent of Police said.

Ms. Poddar was reserved under areas 341, 269 and 270 of the Native indian Penal Value (IPC) for inappropriate detention and irresponsible and risky functions likely to propagate condition of condition risky to lifestyle. All the areas are bailable.
