Use bogus snakes on Nag Panchami: PETA to reptile charmers

INDIA: As Hindus equipment up to enjoy the Nag Panchami event Thursday, the Individuals for the Moral Therapy of Creatures (PETA) Saturday advised reptile charmers to use bogus snakes instead of actual ones to prevent atrocities against them during prayer events.

"Nag Panchami, which is organised in honor of snake god Nag Devta, instead of shelling out honor to them, becomes a mockery. It is a personal for these amazing animals," said PETA-India, strategy manager, Chani Singh in a declaration.
According to the Hindu schedule, every season Nag Panchami is recognized on the fifth day of the moonlit-fortnight in the 30 days of Shravan.

"We have also requested the Bedia Federation of Indian and Company of Globe Bedia and Snake Charmers to motivate the use of bogus snakes in position of actual ones during this seasons Nag Panchami," Singh said.

PETA said taken snakes are often kept in imprisoning hand baggage or small bins, deprived and their fangs strongly yanked out, or their lips shateringly attached close. The snake's venom duct is often pierced with a hot hook, resulting in its glands to rush.

Some snakes have their sight broken when the 'tika' (vermillion) used to their hoods during prayer wedding trickles into them.

The organisation said many believe that snakes eat dairy food. But dairy food is not aspect of their organic eating plan and it causes them to become seriously dried. Most die consequently, it said.

"We motivate reptile charmers to demonstrate their sympathy for these tormented animals and use bogus ones created up of nasty or wooden instead," Singh included.
