Exide changes concentrate in UPS & inverter segment


INDIA: Exide Sectors experiencing issues in the automobile battery power section has converted its concentrate in the continuous power (UPS) and inverter section where need stayed solid.

"Demand for automobile battery power power is reducing and the only exemption is the inverter section. There is rapid increase of need, mostly in southeast the nation. We want to tap this need," Exide Handling Home and CEO T V Ramanathan informed correspondents after the AGM.

"We are start to both greenfield development and even products if the need occurs," he said.

The organization lately forayed into the production and marketing of inverters for home section by obtaining a production facility at Roorkie, Uttarakhand in Jan with an financial commitment of Rs 17.5 crore.

The organization is using its current system of national traders to market the product and has spent Rs 10 crore in the flower.

Meanwhile, the organization lately said it would spend Rs 270 crore as financial commitment investment during the financial.

Exide was anticipating good development for September to Sept one fourth of the financial and did not anticipate lead costs to go up later on.
