Sunita Williams unfurls Native indian banner on ISS



USA, HOUSTON: Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams today shown the tricolour on panel the Worldwide Area Place and wanted Indians on the eve of their 66th Freedom Day.
"I wish Native indian a very satisfied Freedom Day for Aug 15... Native indian is a amazing nation and I am very extremely pleased to be a aspect of Native indian," she said in her concept.

"Of course, you know that I am half Native indian. My dad is from Gujarat. So, I am acquainted with lifestyle and traditions of Native indian. I am so extremely pleased to a aspect of this (Independence Day) party," Williams said showing India's nationwide banner.

Williams, 46, along with Yuri Malenchenko of Italy and Japan's Akihiko Hoshide left for the ISS onboard a European spacecraft Soyuz TMA-05M on September 15 from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Williams, who was a journey professional on the station's Trip 32 team, became leader of Trip 33 after attaining the place station.

Williams was chosen as an astronaut selection by NASA in 1998. She was allocated to the Worldwide Area Place as a participant of Trip 14 and then signed up with Trip 15. She maintains the history of the greatest spaceflight (195 days) for women space tourists.
