In contact with minds and hearts is more essential than Rs 100 cr: 'Barfi!' film director


INDIA, MUMBAI: To many, it is amazing that Anurag Basu is the same man who helmed 'Kites' and 'Barfi!'. The film director, who considers touching a number of minds and hearts is more essential than Rs 100 crore box-office takings, says flexibility often changes out to be a drawback in the film market.

"I individually encounter it is a drawback to be a flexible film director. Manufacturers don't know where to position you because they don't know what next you will come up with," Basu informed IANS.

"(As a film director, I feel) You stay with a film for one to two decades, and so it should be interesting. Each and every venture should stimulate you (as a filmmaker). For me, 'Barfi!' was an completely different encounter," included the film director, who has previously helmed movies as different as 'Gangster', 'Life... in a Metro' and 'Kites'.

Basu's newest providing 'Barfi!' is illustrating audiences to the cinemas even per 7 days after its launch Sep 14. But he is not worried whether it creates it to the Rs 100 crore team or creates it through the candidate of India's access for the Oscar this period.
